Welcome to the 1st PFAStwin Summer School (Madrid)
It is a pleasure for the PFAStwin team from the Spanish National Research Council, Institute of General Organic Chemistry (IQOG-CSIC) to announce and host the 1st PFAStwin Summer School on Advancing Knowledge on POPs and Environmental Analysis - PFAS as a case study that will be held at IQOG (Madrid, Spain) from 4-6 June 2024.
Join us at the first PFAStwin Summer School at IQOG-CSIC in Madrid, where a series of insightful talks will be presented. These include an overview of the PFAStwin project and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), current knowledge on PFAS pollution and its interaction with microplastics, challenges in sampling and sample treatment, and instrumental approaches in contaminant analysis using HRMS. Discussions will also cover PFAS in international conventions, its impact on the agro-environment, remediation and management of contaminated sites, the advantages of HRMS in non-targeted and suspect screening, quantifying PFAS in water according to the latest EU regulations, and the destruction of PFAS and related wastes. We invite you to review the program attentively and encourage your attendance to gain valuable insights and contribute to these crucial discussions.
